Here: Goût du jourWhile active in the international fashion business, Lilla Wicki also pursues her own research, engaging with archives of fabrics made in Switzerland, reflecting the country's long history of textile design. In 2019 she collaborated with Mode Suisse and the Zurich Silk Association on the capsule collection Les archives au goût du jour, available at the Landesmuseum in Zurich. For this project, at the crossroads of research, fashion and mediation, Wicki designed a series of t-shirts including original swatches from the archive of the textile factory Gessner in Wädenswil. Thus each t-shirt, all made of organic cotton, becomes a unique piece, bringing to light the historical craftmanship.
There: Multifaceted experienceLilla Wicki acquired her initial experience working for contemporary art galleries. She then launched the brand Lillarosa in Zurich as co-owner, focusing on handcrafted accessories, involving on-site exchanges with workshops in India. Following her entrepreneurial spirit, she also worked for fashion brands Rue du Mail, Helmut Lang and GAP Inc., before launching her own studio, Monochrome, in 2016.
Everywhere: MonochromeIn the highly transformative environment of the fashion industry, which affords flexibility and offers a wide range of opportunities, Lilla Wicki’s studio positions itself as an innovative ship able to navigate her interests and creatively respond to the fashion world. As an independent fashion and textile consultant, Monochrome provides research, conception and production in textile and fashion for brands and manufacturers all over the world, including Art Basel, Pro Helvetia, Pizval, Diane Von Fürstenberg, Arthur Arbesser, Toray, Helvetas, Nobland, and Everlane.
